After weeks of braving winter strolls and tackling holiday shopping, it might be time to give your footwear a fashionable upgrade. Fortunately, 2025 is set to deliver trends that balance practicality, comfort, and cutting-edge design.

“In 2024, we saw chunky sneakers give way to sleek, dress-casual styles,” says TOMS’ brand manager, Darcia Schouten. “This shift reflects changing lifestyles, as people seek footwear that’s stylish yet practical for everyday wear.” In 2025, comfort and versatility take center stage.

Riding Boots

The western and cowboy boot craze of recent years is evolving into a more refined equestrian style. Riding boots, with their streamlined silhouette and timeless appeal, are poised to dominate wardrobes. Gucci and Hermès showcased them on their runways, proving their day-to-night versatility.

Slim Sneakers

In sneakers, slim and low-profile designs are taking over from chunky trainers. Onitsuka Tiger, Dries van Noten, and PUMA Palermo styles are already gaining traction, and brands like Alohas are predicted to dominate spring and summer 2025.

Block Heels

Kitten heels may have defined 2024, but 2025 is about block heels. “With more people prioritizing all-day wearability, block heels offer the perfect balance of elegance and practicality,” says Schouten. As designers push “practical luxury,” block heels shine as the ideal staple for day-to-night transitions.

Flip-Flops and Sandals

Flip-flops are making a vibrant return. “Havaianas were a standout at Copenhagen Fashion Week and are set to dominate the holiday season,” says footwear expert Barker. Brightly colored, 2000s-inspired flip-flops and Crocs’ bold ‘Miami’ collection promise playful, effortless style for summer.

From versatile riding boots to colorful flip-flops, 2025 footwear trends ensure every step is as stylish as it is comfortable. Let your shoes lead the way!
