Effortlessly Chic: Embracing the Denim Maxi Skirt Trend

There is always one fashion staple in our wardrobe that we rely on, the humble denim skirt. It’s an easy go-to, versatile, easy to style and a great alternative to jeans.

As summer 2023 approaches, there is one fashion trend we need to include in our wardrobe, denim maxi skirt. We’ve seen it on celebrities, models and fashion influencers. You can’t miss it! Luckily both designers and the high street have an array of denim skirts to choose from.

The denim skirt first came into fashion in the 1970s during the ‘hippie‘ era, coming back in the 1990s when the mini denim skirt was popular and in the early 2000s with various styles emerging, including A-line, pencil, and distressed designs.

It’s undoubtedly a hot trend this season and here are a few tips on how to style it. You’re Welcome…

Wear your maxi skirt with a graphic tee for a casual and comfortable look, and pair it with trainers or sandals to complete the outfit. Throw a biker jacket over to maximise the look.

When it comes to evening or simply a dressier look, wear your denim skirt with a ruffle, lace or sheer blouse. This creates a feminine, on-trend outfit. Pair the look with a strappy heel for the evening or cowboy boots for those bohemian vibes.

For another daytime look you can wear your denim maxi with a knit tank top for that laid-back summer look.

Of course, accessories are key here to elevate this look, pair it with clogs or trainers, and layer the look with a trench coat and baseball cap for that effortless city chic look.
