Protect Your Skin with Confidence: A Guide to Foundation with SPF

We all know the importance of wearing sun cream to protect our skin from the sun’s harmful rays. While there are lots out there about the best SPFs to wear, did you know you can also buy foundation with SPF? I’ve compiled a list of foundations that include SPF in their formula. I would always recommend investing in your skin and base and the rest of your makeup will look flawless, but there are also some budget options in this list too. Remember it’s still essential to wear your SPF, so the options below will only give you extra protection.

Sculpted by Aimee Second Skin Foundation – with SPF 50

Aimee Connolly knows what she’s doing when it comes to makeup, by providing a liquid mineral foundation with medium coverage and has SPF 50. Her Second Skin foundation comes in dewy and matte, with dewy specifically formulated for normal to dry skin (like myself) and matte for more oily or combination skin. This has been one of my top foundations for the summer and I’m excited to see how it wears in the winter.

SOSUBYSJ – CC Me In – with SPF 45

Anyone who knows me knows how much of a SOSU fan I am, and I’m delighted that they have released a foundation with SPF in it to keep my skin feeling hydrated. The CC Me in foundation provides a medium to buildable coverage so it is perfect to go from day to night. It blends into the skin to help perfect, correct and conceal imperfections and includes hyaluronic acid for moisture in the skin.

Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder – with SPF 15

This foundation is perfect for light coverage and skin protection. It provides a flawless look for the skin, but can also be matched with other Charlotte Tilbury foundations for more coverage. Charlotte Tilbury provides what colours would match your shade in other products, which is handy.

L’Oreal Paris True Match Foundation – with SPF 17

This foundation is budget friendly and allows you to achieve a flawless look with its lightweight and buildable formula. Again, there’s hyaluronic acid in the ingredients to keep the skin hydrated and lots of shades to choose from. I like this foundation for everyday wear and it’s suitable for sensitive skin.

Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting – with SPF 30

One for full coverage lovers like myself, this foundation adds a glowy and luminous look to the skin without feeling heavy or cakey. It’s perfect for people with dry skin who want a glowy/dewy look and will look radiant in any light. The formula which includes SPF 30 minimises the look of fine lines and protects your skin.

Nars Cosmetics Pure Radiant Tinter Moisturiser – with SPF 30

If you’re looking for more of a moisturiser than a foundation, this is the one for you. The oil-free formula is infused with natural botanicals and ingredients to help hydrate your skin. The tint will provide light coverage and is best applied with your hands, remember less is more with tinted moisturisers.

As mentioned, I have quite dry, dehydrated skin, so anything with hyaluronic acid I’m going to love. A lot of foundations offer light to medium coverage, but they are also buildable, which definitely comes in handy. Personally, I like medium to full coverage, which can be tough with dry skin, but the foundations mentioned above are great options and these foundations are my go-to for hydration and protection. Remember, while it’s a bonus to have SPF in your foundation, you wouldn’t use enough to fully protect your skin so you’ll also need to wear a separate SPF.
